A FEW WORDS ABOUT ME

I was born in  Athens in 1978. I am a graduate of the University of Leeds of the United Kingdom (Medical Biochemistry), with postgraduate studies in Human Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics, a Doctor of Philosophy of the Medical School of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, hold a degree in Integrative Approach Mental Health Counseling and I am trained in Body Psychotherapy with the method of Biosynthesis.

In my professional career so far, I have been active in two areas of health: the area of genetic disorders, medical research and the safety of medicines for human use and the are of mental health counselling and psychotherapy.

​

In the context of the former, I met people in difficult times of their lives, physically and emotionally demanding, often exhausting. Times filled with physical pain, tension and difficult emotions, but also filled with incredible strength, will to live, persistence and hope. Times through which, the people I had the luck and honor to meet, were transformed in such a manner, that I could not but admire the strength of the soul, the spirit and the body.

Through this, I found myself almost inevitably getting involved with mental health counselling and psychotherapy. Having completed my education, I worked voluntarily in the Organization "Together for Children", I collaborated with Counselling Centers in offering individual counselling sessions and have coordinated psychoeducational seminars.

​

Today, I hold a private practice in Neos Kosmos, Athens, Greece and in my work, other than discussion, I incorporate methods that focus on creative expression and the body.
